Top 3 Best Ceremony Locations Outside Ravenswood Mansion

As cooler temperatures begin to appear, the holiday engagement season is almost upon us! If you are engaged, looking to elope, or just curious about our venue, this blog is for you! Today we will explore our top three favorite spots for ceremony locations here at Ravenswood Mansion.

Front lawn in front of front porch

The front porch is an all season ceremony option and can seat guests up to 200 outside. Your guests will be facing the house with your fiance and officiant standing at the base of the external stairs. You enter from one of our sidewalks on either side of the house or you can arrive in style and drive up the driveway to exit in the circular driveway and walk to the front of the house as well!

Front of House facing away

Envision your grand entrance from the double front doors of Ravenswood Mansion and walk down the sidewalk towards our circular pavement. In the perfect round patch of grass, your ceremony backdrop can be an arbor or one of our many rental items included, or have the lush greenery from the park add to your vows. Once you and your partner are married - you can walk back up the sidewalk to begin cocktail hour! If you’d like a different entrance, you can enter in a car from the side drive way or walk in from one of our other sidewalk entrances on either side of the Mansion.

the Back field

Behind the Mansion, your guests will sit in the back field while you enter from our back covered patio as your grand entrance. Accented by the rolling hills right behind your ceremony, it is the perfect place for a golden hour ceremony and for brides who are looking for a more natural greenery look! After the vows, you can wave to your guests while heading towards our pavers to begin those “just married” glee of couples photos!

You simply cannot go wrong with any ceremony locations, but we hope this has given you some insight on where you want to get married! What is your favorite location you saw?

Elevating Your Event Easily

Elevating your event doesn’t need to be a headache. We have some simple tricks that will help make the biggest difference in your event and take it to the next level!

Tent sizes

Our patio pavers fit a 40x90 tent and is our most popular size on property for this reason! It covers the entire paved area and provides shade even as the sun goes down over our Tennessee hills. You can adjust your tent size down from a 40x90 and use a 40x40 to cover about half the patio. This is a wonderful option to have dinner service and your bar set up under the tent and have dancing underneath the open air!

Tent styles

While most of our client opt between a classic white tent or a clear top tent, your tent decor doesn’t have to stop there. The classic, white tent is an industry favorite and is ready for any lighting or greenery / floral installments. Consider adding a chandelier to frame your cake table or install some boho wicker baskets to frame the live band playing for your reception. Planning on having a sunset / evening reception? Look at a clear top tent instead of the standard white tent! It is an excellent option if you are planning an evening reception in the early summer, or tie-ing the knot in the fall. You can eat and dance the night away under the stars - what is better than that!

Pole draping

Pole drapery, while necessary, are often overlooked! We spoke with Alexis from EventWorks about easy ways to make those poles more glamorous. “Pole drapes make a HUGE difference and they aren’t a huge cost! They are $40 per leg so on the 40x90 tent, it would be $560.”! Think about swapping out the steel rods in the back of your photos for gauzy draped poles instead to create a stunning visual booth in person and in your photos!

Spotlights + Gobos

Spotlights add so much depth to the event and are an easy way to bring the drama to your event! Adding a couple spotlights such as, a pin spot for your entrance into your reception, a spotlight on your gorgeous dessert table / cake, or providing a highlight to the Photo Booth can go a long way for your guests!

Ready to take on the dance floor? Get everyone on the dance floor with a GOBO (a projected image of your choice, such as your new last name or initials of you and your new spouse). This is a cost effective way to add some personalized touches to your dance floor. There are so many ways to personalize your event to get your guests dancing all night long!
